Privacy Policy

Last updated 14 October 2026 · Run by Awofbid Integrated Services, Nigeria

This policy explains what we collect, why we collect it and the choices you have. We follow the Nigeria Data Protection Act 2023 (NDPA). We collect only what the app needs to work.

What we collect

  • Account: your email address and password (stored as a one-way hash, not a readable password).
  • Profile: username, display name, photos, bio, gender, interests, languages, country and city (optional). These are public.
  • Birth date: used only to check your age and the 18+ Dating rule. It is never shown to anyone.
  • Who you want to see in Dating: private. Only you can see it.
  • Activity: messages, voice notes, photos sent in chat, room comments, follows, connections, reports and blocks.
  • Verification selfies: if you choose to get verified. Only our review team can see them.
  • Payments: coin purchases and cash-outs. Card details go straight to our licensed payment processor; we never see or store them. For cash-outs we store the bank name, account number and account name you give us.

Why we use it (legal basis)

To run the service you signed up for (contract), to keep people safe and stop abuse (legitimate interest and legal duty), to process payments and keep financial records (legal duty), and for optional features you turn on (consent). We do not sell your data and we do not show ads.

Live rooms

Live audio is streamed in real time and is not recorded by default. Anyone in a room can hear what you say on stage, so don't share private information there.

Who we share it with

  • Our hosting and database provider, which stores your data securely.
  • LiveKit, which carries live room audio.
  • Our licensed payment processor, which handles payments.
  • We load the app's fonts from Google Fonts (Google sees your IP address).
  • Police or regulators, only when the law requires it or to protect someone from serious harm.

Some of these providers may process data outside Nigeria, with safeguards as required by the NDPA.

How long we keep it

We keep your data while your account is open, with one exception: on the first of each month, chat photos and voice notes older than 90 days are deleted from private and group chats. Message text is kept. Expired media can no longer be opened. When you delete your account in Profile, your profile, photos and messages are deleted. Payment records may be kept for up to 6 years because Nigerian tax law requires it. Reports may be kept to protect people's safety.

Your rights

You can see, correct, download or delete your data, take back your consent, or object to how we use it. You can edit most data in Profile and delete your account at any time. You can also complain to the Nigeria Data Protection Commission (ndpc.gov.ng).

Teens (13–17)

Users aged 13 to 17 must have a parent's or guardian's permission. They can't use Dating, and adults can't find them there. If we learn that someone under 13 has an account, we delete it.

Security

Data travels encrypted, private files need sign-in to open, and only staff accounts can reach moderation tools. No system is perfect. If a breach puts you at risk, we will tell you and the regulator as the law requires.
